New Logistics And Industrial Hub Set For Leeds

The construction of a new logistics and industrial hub at Leeds Valley Park has been brought forward, with developer Caddick Developments having submitted its planning application for the site to the local authority.

Insider Media reported that the 20 acre site will house six light-industrial mid-box units that will vary in size and style. The surrounding land will be landscaped to make it a pleasant place to work and it will support up to 500 jobs once it’s completed.

The location of the site is key from a logistics perspective, with Leeds Valley Park located between junction 44 of the M1 and junction 7 of the M621. This means it not only provides easy access to the national road network, but is also just a 15 minute drive from Leeds city centre.

Jim Dyson, a director at Caddick Developments, told the news provider that the organisation is “confident” that this is the right location for this kind of logistics hub.

“The proposal comes at an exciting time for the sector, and with its perfect location and high-quality design, the development is set to attract businesses from across the region and the nation,” he commented.

This isn’t the only logistics development that’s set for the area around Leeds in the coming months. Logistics Manager reported that Sterling Capitol and PLP have entered into an agreement to extend the former’s Capitol Park Leeds, providing a 100-acre industrial and logistics development in the process.

An outline planning application for the site is set to be delivered to Leeds City Council in December.
