Roofing Market Grows

We give the best concrete reinforcement Wakefield has to offer and can help people get the roofing they need for their homes.

Increasing numbers of people need roofing supplies in the UK, as the market has expanded in recent years. In fact it grew 7 per cent in 2016, a report out in September showed.

Most of this new demand comes from the house building sector, with relatively lower demand in the commercial and industrial sectors over the past five years.

Keith Taylor, Director at AMA research, said: “The housebuilding market remains very positive in the sense that demand levels are high, and the Government has indicated that it wants to support the affordable sector with various schemes, something which should have a positive impact on the roofing sector.”

A significant proportion of the market was also focused on repair and renovation he pointed out, which would also help to keep the sector buoyant.

However, a shortage of roofers in the UK construction industry could be set to scupper this growth, warned a report by AMA Research.

Brexit could worsen the issue which has existed since 2015, as many of our skilled workers in the construction trade are EU nationals. There has still not been any solid promises made to EU nationals about their right to remain or their residence rights after the UK leaves the European Union.

Overall, the ‘Roofing Market Report UK – 2017-2021 Analysis’ report published by AMA Research forecasts stability, with growth in four or five years.
